Hardscaping

Hardscaping is the structural part of your landscape. From retaining walls and paving stone patios, to sheds, garages and gazebos, your property has contours and texture. A beautifully landscaped yard needs a well designed hardscape structure to build on.

Retaining Walls

Whether it is landscape ties, allan block, drypack stone or formed concrete, a retaining wall needs to be both functional and beautiful. When building on or near a property line, it's important to coordinate with your neighbours, and you may require a permit from your municipality.

Paving Stones

Installing paving stones is actually quite simple, but site preparation is key. A properly layered and compacted base is important for a long lasting level surface. There are many different types of paving stones and each will have specific base requirements.

Structures

Framing an out building on your property will require some specific setback and size restrictions from your municipality. BC One Call - Call Before You Dig is a free resource and is invaluable for finding your buried utilities. For certain types of structures a site survey may be required.
